School Background

J1–J2

Specialist

Mr Lee spent years teaching in MOE schools before joining The Classroom. That means he knows exactly what A Level examiners want to see — and exactly where JC students lose marks. His lessons are known for being clear, no-fluff, and genuinely engaging. Students describe him as patient, approachable, and someone who will stay back just to make sure you get it before the next topic. The jump from O Level to H2 Math is real. Mr Lee has helped students through it more times than he can count.

Why Students Struggle

H2 Math isn't just harder O Level Math.

The jump from secondary school to JC catches most students off guard. Here's what Mr Lee sees again and again in his classes at Hougang Central.

The syllabus doubles. The time doesn't.

H2 Math introduces entirely new branches — Calculus, Vectors, Complex Numbers, Statistics — on top of everything from AMath. You're not picking up where you left off. You're starting a new subject at full speed.

AMath gaps surface immediately.

Weak trigonometry, shaky differentiation, half-understood graphing techniques — all of it becomes a problem in week one. H2 Math assumes you have AMath locked down. Most students don't.

The exam format punishes rushing.

Two 3-hour papers, each worth 50%. Long-form questions that test your reasoning, not just your recall. Students who haven't practised under proper exam conditions almost always lose marks on questions they actually knew.

JC teachers teach the class, not you.

School tutorials move through content on schedule whether you kept up or not. One missed concept leads to three more you can't follow. Without someone to close the gap specifically for you, the hole just gets bigger.

The Approach

How Mr Lee Guides You Through H2 Math Step by Step

A consistent teaching method built around what actually helps JC students improve.

Start with the O Level bridge

Before diving into JC topics, Mr Lee rebuilds your AMath foundation — Trigonometry, Calculus, Graphing. Most H2 Math struggles trace back to gaps here.

Teach with stories and real examples

Abstract concepts land differently when there's something memorable behind them. Students consistently say this is what makes Mr Lee's lessons stick — even months later.

Curated exam practice

Not past paper roulette. Deliberately chosen questions that expose gaps in understanding before the real exam does. Fully aligned to the MOE H2 Math syllabus.

Train you to check your own work

Finishing a 3-hour paper with time to spare and knowing what to check for is a skill. Mr Lee teaches it deliberately — not as an afterthought.

I was very worried about not scoring well for Math previously, but after coming for your lessons, I feel so much more confident now. Math can be really tough, but you always manage to make it feel approachable and even enjoyable. I never hesitate to ask questions, because you always respond with patience and encouragement. That means a lot to me.

I was a former student 1 year ago. Enrolled in Chemistry class that was conducted by Jeremy. I would say that Jeremy is a pretty patient teacher, always ready to help students in need. He would always stay back to help us clarify questions if needed, and I would say that he is a really great teacher in guiding students when answering chemistry questions.

I would say for the teaching materials... It is pretty concise, quick to the point and effective.

Under his guidance, I jumped from B4 to an A2 for combined science, and I would want to say thank you for helping me to pass my chemistry O level with a breeze!

I was really struggling with chemistry before I joined Mr Neo’s classes, I just couldn’t grasp the concepts at all. But after attending his lessons, things started to make so much more sense! Mr Neo has a great way of simplifying tough topics into smaller, more manageable parts, which made them much easier to understand and apply. He also connects different topics together, which helped me see the bigger picture and strengthened my understanding of each topic. His notes are very clear and thorough, making it easy to follow along and review. Through his lessons, chemistry became much more approachable and enjoyable for me!

After 3.5 months of tutoring by Aimer Ang, my daughter was able to pass her O level E Maths (F9 to B3). I must say that my daughter's scores of 27 in her mid-year exam was all but a goner. I was hoping that someone could help her to at least pass her E Maths. After searching around, I decided to let my daughtet try the Maths tuition at The Classroom in Hougang. I started to notice the growing interest of my daughter's interest in Maths under the guidance of Aimer. She would contact Aimer when she faced Maths problems. Aimer was a very good motivator who influenced my daughter's interest and desire to work hard for improvement. Who knows......my daughter could have score A1 if she had started tuition with Aimer earlier

Mr Anthony Goh has helped my son with much patience and guidance and helped him to secure an A1 in his O Level after just 1 year of tuition , previously he scored D7-E8 in his examinations and lacked the confidence to answer math sums , especially algebra. However after joining The Classroom in January 2024 he has since shown great improvement and scored A1 for his preliminary examination as well as his O Level examinations. The teachers at The Classroom are patient and efficient in their work . I HIGHLY recommend you to send your children there if they are in need of help for Math and Science.

A lot of notes were provided and there were many chemistry resources like video recordings, worksheets, and past year papers. The pace online was good, although it could be a little slower. I took the online tuition course and the teachers were extremely helpful! The course included a lot of extra useful source materials, covering certain weaker topics in greater depth and detail, and pacing me better towards preparation for major exams. The Ninja notes provided for the Chemistry course especially helped with familiarising myself with scientific concepts and memory work. The teachers are also very passionate and attentive and go out of their way to check up on my progress, and are also very open to questions, which allowed me to clarify a lot of my doubts during and even after lesson time. Very creative methods in memorising certain chemistry or math formula/concepts!

Jeremy is a very knowledgeable and inspiring teacher. His explanations were clear and concise. My daughter went to his science lab practice session and came home fully confident for her science practical. On top of that, he went beyond the practical session and revised with the class other important chemistry basics and concepts although the paid lesson did not include them. He is so passionate about helping his students excel in their exams. I would highly recommend Jeremy to anyone who is looking to improve and ace their chemistry paper. Thank you Jeremy! I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Goh for his invaluable assistance in guiding my son through his A Math academic journey. Prior to enrolling in The Classroom, my son consistently struggled, getting F9 and E8 in A Math throughout Sec 3. I chanced upon The Classroom and made the decision to enroll my son and I never regretted.

My son only practice/revise for his A Math during his tuition time with Mr Goh. I believe under Mr. Goh's instructional methods, my son has made a remarkable turnaround in his A Math for his O level — B3. We are very thankful to Mr Goh.

I also want to commend their office manager, Clara, who has consistently displayed kindness and patience in addressing all my inquiries. Her dedication to providing excellent customer service has further enhanced our positive experience with The Classroom.

With Mr Jeremy Neo’s guidance for both physics and chemistry, I’ve managed to attain a 6 grade jump from an F9 to a B3 for O’levels combined science (chem, phy). 🥰

The classroom provides a really positive and comfortable place for me to clarify my doubts as the teacher is really passionate about teaching. 👨‍🏫

Whenever i have a question, i could text mr neo and he would always try his best to reply as soon as possible even when it is his off-work hours. 🤩

The ninja notes also made learning both chemistry and physics very easy as the notes are concise and easy to understand. 📚

Furthermore, after mr neo heard that many of my classmates and i were struggling with practical, he rushed to get some of the practical materials for both chemistry and physics a few weeks before our practical exam for us to do, in-order to make sure that we are prepared for our O’level practical examinations. 🧪

Overall, i had a really great experience in the classroom and would highly recommend my juniors to join as it greatly deepens my passion and understanding in science. 😎

Being a student at this place was a wonderful experience. I struggled with my science and math which were my 2 subjects that pulled my marks down. Being part of The Classroom was very memorable and even made some friends.

The environment of The Classroom is ideal for learning and productive. The teachers here care so much for their students and stay up to respond to our questions when we burn the midnight oil.

Teachers to note are Yida and Jeremy as they are always looking forward to inspire students and help them improve. Both my sciences were a D7 to an F9. after joining classroom, a gradual improvement was set upon me, climbing slowly to b3s and finally for O levels, an A1.

I would highly recommend "The Classroom" to any students struggling with the sciences or maths.

COMMON QUESTIONS

FAQs about H2 Math Tuition in Singapore

Everything parents ask us before enrolling.

Why do many students struggle with H2 Math in JC?

H2 Math introduces more advanced mathematical concepts, abstract reasoning, and multi-step application questions compared to secondary school mathematics. Many students find the transition challenging because topics move at a faster pace and often require stronger conceptual understanding rather than memorisation alone. Consistent practice and guided problem-solving support can help students adapt more confidently to JC-level mathematics.

How can H2 Math tuition help improve examination performance?

H2 Math tuition helps students strengthen their understanding of difficult topics while improving answering techniques and time management skills for examinations. Lessons often focus on breaking down complex questions systematically, identifying common mistakes, and reinforcing application skills through regular practice. Students also benefit from exposure to different question types commonly tested in A Level examinations.

When should students start H2 Math tuition?

Many students begin tuition in JC1 to build stronger foundations before topics become more advanced in JC2. Starting earlier can help students stay consistent with tutorials, lectures, and school assessments while preventing weaker concepts from accumulating over time. Students who require additional support before major examinations may also benefit from more focused revision closer to exam periods.

Do you provide H2 Math tuition for students from different junior colleges?

Yes. Our H2 Math tuition classes support students from different junior colleges across Singapore. We focus on helping students strengthen their understanding of the MOE syllabus regardless of their school or academic starting point.

How are lessons conducted during H2 Math tuition?

Lessons are structured to combine concept explanation, guided examples, and exam-oriented practice. Students are taught how to approach challenging questions step by step while improving mathematical reasoning and answering precision. At our tuition centre in Hougang, students often receive additional guidance on managing common problem areas and building stronger confidence in tackling advanced questions independently.

How can I find out more about your H2 Math tuition classes?

Students and parents who would like to learn more about our schedules, teaching approach, and class arrangements are welcome to contact us for more information.
